Here's What Could Happen If Brands Copy Nike's Auto-Lacing Technology
Jared Goldstein, our fashion law chair, writes for Complex. He recently wrote an article describing the possible implications of Nike's patented shoe auto-lacing technology. This auto-lacing technology is the same system that is used in the Nike Mag, the shoe that became famous in Back to the Future II. According to Jared, the auto-lacing system could afford Nike the possibility of monopolizing the shoe industry, or at least, giving them a large competitive advantage, for the duration of their utility patent. In addition, as seen by the picture above, Jared is one of the only people in the world to try the auto-lacing technology and was interviewed about it. Click here to read about Jared's experience.
